Our social worker just called and I spoke to Koley. He seemed content and wasn't upset. He is super excited because Applewood has a pool. I am thrilled about that. He loves to swim!
She said that he was going into a meeting with his therapist and he would spend most of the day with her.
He has his own room which is a nice benefit too. They had already set up his bed, his stuffed animals and photographs. We are able to bring him some sheets or more comforts from home to decorate his room as we choose.
We will not have to wait for visits. Sometimes they make you wait 3 to 4 weeks when a child starts a new program but we were approved for immediate visits.
I am also able to call whenever I wish.

my oldest, my first. he's my challenge. my witty, funny, active challenge. he struggles, he hurts and i can't make it better. i don't know how to make it better. he loves to color, write and journal. he wants to please and be accepted. i want him to be healthy and happy!

my 3rd. a middle child of sorts. she is my entertainer, my broadway performer. my lover. she has a smile that is contagious. she is such a joy that pushes her limits! we kid about her horns...they are hidden by all that hair! she loves her bubbies and sissy more than anything. daddy far outranks her mama.
lanee girl
sweet, sweet lane. my second baby, a middle child of sorts. she is drama, she is thoughful and kind. she asks entirely too many questions that she knows the answers to. she smiles all the time. she is so creative, she is an artist. i call her my "little mommie" as she is so helpful! she has been through so much in her young life. i treasure her and couldn't live without her for a minute.

I know it was difficult to not be with him today, but keep your head up. There sounds like a lot of great things for Kole there, the pool, phone calls from Mom whenever she wants, a great support system, and lots of visits to come. Know we are thinking of you & your family!
Im sorry things didnt work out the way they were suppose to, but it is awsome that you can call and visit when ever you want!!!!! It sounds like the transition he is making is a good one. You are such a good mom to have the courage to go through with this is awsome and whats best for koley!!!

Wow! That's fantastic news, Erin! I am so happy they have a pool! :)
I am so glad that Kole is doing well and it sounds like he is adjusting beautifully. I'm so happy that you are able to visit soon and I'm sure Kole would take great comfort in having sheets from home! You continue to be in my thoughts...stay strong.
