I thought I would give it a try and I like it. He seems to like it as well and that is what is important. I spent several hours on Saturday cutting, steaming and blending carrots, apples, pears, peaches, green beans, butternut squash, zucchini and more just for our little man. He is a great eater and seems to not be very picky.
After I was finished with each batch I froze them in ice cube trays for easy preparation and thawing. I learned very quickly to not use cheap trays. THEY BREAK! The food will not "pop" out like ice cubes. I found that if I used a spoon to pry each cube out that it worked best. I then used rubbermaid containers for longer term storage. I have been thawing about 3 to 4 cubes per feeding for about 25 seconds in the microwave.
I have gone organic for him as I am concerned about health issues especially with Koley's struggles.
Now that he is getting the hang of it I love bananas as all I have to do is smush them with a fork and add just a bit of water. They are so simple.
